EHI advances reliable, ethical, and clinically or biologically relevant knowledge in herbal and natural-product research. The journal connects traditional knowledge with modern pharmacology, toxicology, formulation science, biotechnology, clinical research, and evidence synthesis.
Scope
- Medicinal plants, pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, and natural-product chemistry
- Pharmacological activity, mechanisms of action, and molecular targets of herbal products
- Safety, toxicology, quality control, standardisation, and herb-drug interactions
- Formulation, drug delivery, bioavailability, and development of herbal products
- Preclinical, clinical, public-health, and translational research involving herbal or complementary interventions
- Systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and evidence-based evaluation of traditional and complementary medicine
- Bioactive materials derived from plants, animals, and minerals where their relevance to health is clearly demonstrated
Article types
EHI considers original research articles, case reports, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, narrative reviews, short communications, and technical notes that are within scope. All submissions must be original, ethically conducted, and methodologically sound.
