As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • I have reviewed and understood the journal’s Article Processing Charges policy, including payment terms and waiver availability.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • The manuscript file has been anonymised for double-anonymous peer review, with author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and other identifying information removed.
  • The submission includes all applicable ethical approval, informed-consent, funding, data-availability, author-contribution, and competing-interest statements.

Author Guidelines and Manuscript Templates

Prepare your manuscript with the official EHI template. Initial submissions are received by email; manuscripts that pass editorial assessment are registered in OJS for transparent workflow tracking.

Submission channel

Send the manuscript and required supporting files to eureka.herba.indonesia@gmail.com.

Within 1–3 days, the editorial office assesses scope fit, originality and similarity. Authors of manuscripts that pass this stage receive an OJS account and login information; all subsequent review, revision and production activity is tracked through OJS.

Requirements for all manuscripts

Title and abstract

Use a concise, informative, sentence-case title of no more than 20 words. Provide a structured abstract of 150–250 words and 3–5 keywords. Avoid citations and undefined abbreviations in the abstract.

Authorship metadata

State each author’s full name, department or study program, faculty or institution, city and country. Identify the corresponding author and provide email and ORCID iD where available.

Anonymous review file

Prepare a clean manuscript for double-blind review. Remove author names, affiliations, acknowledgements and identifying document properties from the review version.

Tables and figures

Number tables and figures in citation order. Place table titles above tables and figure captions below figures. Images must be legible and at least 300 dpi; protect patient identity.

Declarations

Include generative-AI use, author contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, ethics approval and informed consent where applicable, data availability, and acknowledgements.

References

Use Vancouver style and number references in order of first citation. List the first three authors followed by “et al.” when applicable, and include DOI or a persistent link where available.

Article-specific structure

Original Article

Introduction; Methods (study design and setting, materials or plant material where relevant, procedures or interventions, measurements, statistical analysis, and ethics); Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Declarations; References. Use the discipline-appropriate reporting guideline, such as CONSORT, STROBE or ARRIVE.

Case Report / Case Study

Prepare the report in line with CARE: Introduction; patient or case information; clinical findings and timeline; diagnostic assessment; therapeutic intervention and follow-up; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Declarations; References. Written informed consent for publication is required where patient data are involved.

Systematic Review / Meta-analysis

Follow PRISMA 2020: explicit PICO-framed question; prospective protocol registration where applicable (for example, PROSPERO); eligibility criteria and information sources; reproducible search strategy; study selection and data extraction; risk-of-bias assessment; synthesis or meta-analysis methods; PRISMA flow diagram; Results and Discussion; Conclusion; Declarations; References.

Final pre-submission check

Confirm originality, scope fit, ethical compliance, anonymisation, complete declarations, and use of the correct EHI template. Review the journal’s peer-review, publication ethics, licensing and article-processing-charge policies before sending the manuscript.
