Eureka Herba Indonesia is a double-anonymous peer-reviewed, fully open access journal publishing original research in herbal medicine, natural products, and complementary therapies, with particular emphasis on translational work that connects laboratory findings to clinical application.
Scope
- Phytochemistry and standardisation of natural materials: isolation, structural elucidation, metabolite profiling, extract standardisation, quality control of crude drugs, and the development of chemical markers.
- Pharmacology of natural products: in vitro and in vivo bioactivity studies, molecular mechanisms, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and herb-drug interactions.
- Toxicology and safety: acute and sub-chronic toxicity studies, long-term safety, and reporting of adverse effects.
- Ethnopharmacology and ethnobotany: documentation of Indonesian traditional medicinal knowledge and its scientific validation.
- Clinical research in complementary therapies: clinical trials, observational studies, and effectiveness research on natural-product-based interventions.
- Formulation and delivery technology: dosage form development, herbal nanotechnology, and bioavailability enhancement.
- Bioinformatics and network pharmacology: molecular docking, network pharmacology, and computational modelling of natural compounds.
Article Types
- Original research articles: the principal article type, constituting no fewer than 60 per cent of the articles in each issue.
- Case reports and case studies: which must state the objective, methods, results and analysis, and conclusions.
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses: which must follow a recognised reporting guideline such as PRISMA.
Manuscripts falling outside this scope are declined at initial editorial screening without external review. Eureka Herba Indonesia is not a multidisciplinary miscellany: all published articles fall within the single, defined field of inquiry set out above.
