1. Ownership of Copyright
Authors retain full copyright in their work. Publication in Eureka Herba Indonesia does not transfer copyright to the journal or to the publisher. No assignment of copyright is required as a condition of publication.
2. Right of First Publication
By submitting a manuscript, authors grant Eureka Herba Indonesia a non-exclusive right of first publication, together with the right to identify itself as the original publisher of the work. This grant includes permission to:
- publish, reproduce, and distribute the article in electronic form in perpetuity;
- deposit the article and its metadata with indexing services, abstracting services, and digital preservation systems;
- register a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) for the article and maintain its metadata; and
- make the article available under the license stated in the journal's Licensing Policy.
The grant is non-exclusive: authors remain free to exercise all other rights in their work.
3. Author Rights Retained
Authors retain, without needing to seek further permission from the journal, the right to:
- reuse the whole or part of the article in a thesis, dissertation, book chapter, or subsequent work, with acknowledgement of first publication in Eureka Herba Indonesia;
- deposit the published version (version of record) in an institutional repository, a subject repository, a funder repository, or a personal or institutional website, immediately upon publication and with no embargo period;
- distribute copies to students, colleagues, and collaborators for scholarly and educational purposes; and
- present the work at conferences and in teaching.
In every case, the original publication must be acknowledged by citing the journal name, volume, issue, year, page or article identifier, and DOI, and by indicating the license under which the article was published.
4. Moral Rights
Moral rights remain with the authors at all times. These include the right to be identified as the author of the work and the right to object to any distortion, mutilation, or other modification of the work that would be prejudicial to the authors' honour or reputation.
5. Author Warranty
By submitting a manuscript, the authors warrant that the work is original; that it has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere; that they hold the rights necessary to grant the permissions set out above; and that the work does not infringe the copyright, privacy, or other rights of any third party.
6. Third-Party Material
Where an article reproduces figures, tables, instruments, images, or extended quotations from another source, it is the authors' responsibility to obtain written permission from the copyright holder and to cite the source in full. Evidence of permission must be supplied to the editorial office before publication. Material reproduced under a Creative Commons license must be attributed in accordance with the terms of that license.
7. Copyright Holder and Year of Record
For every article published by Eureka Herba Indonesia, the copyright holder of record is the author or authors, and the copyright year is the year of publication of the issue in which the article appears. This information is recorded in the article metadata and displayed on the first page of each article's PDF.
8. Corrections, Retractions, and Withdrawn Articles
Copyright arrangements are unaffected by the issue of a correction or a retraction. A retracted article remains available on the journal website and in the journal archive, clearly marked as retracted, so that the scholarly record remains complete and verifiable.
9. Statement on the Article Itself
The following statement appears on the first page of every article published by the journal:
