Assessment
Editors examine the nature, extent, location, attribution, and context of overlap. Properly cited methods, references, standard terminology, and unavoidable technical phrases are distinguished from unattributed copying or redundant publication.
Outcomes
Minor problems may require correction. Material plagiarism, fabricated attribution, duplicate publication, or deliberate concealment may result in rejection and appropriate notification. Concerns in published work are handled under the Corrections and Retractions Policy.
